Jump Rope
A high-efficiency tool for building cardiovascular endurance, coordination, and lower-body explosiveness.
How to perform.
Follow the sequence — setup is half the lift.
Stand with your feet together and hold the handles with a relaxed grip, keeping your elbows tucked close to your ribs.
Position the rope behind your heels and initiate the movement by rotating your wrists in small circles.
Jump just high enough for the rope to pass under your feet, keeping a soft bend in your knees to absorb impact.
Maintain a vertical posture with your gaze forward and stay on the balls of your feet throughout the set.
Keep your arm movements minimal, focusing on generating the rotation from the wrists rather than the shoulders.
Land softly and immediately transition into the next repetition to maintain a steady rhythm.
Common mistakes.
Fix these first — they cost reps, kilos, and joints.
- Jumping too high off the ground
- Using the entire arm to swing the rope instead of the wrists
- Kicking the feet back or tucking the knees during the jump
- Landing on flat feet or heels
Muscles worked.
The primary movers do the work; the stabilizers keep the path honest.
