Battle Ropes

A high-intensity, low-impact conditioning tool that builds explosive power and metabolic endurance across the entire body.

01

How to perform.

Follow the sequence — setup is half the lift.

01

Stand facing the anchor point with your feet shoulder-width apart and a slight bend in your knees and hips.

02

Grip the ends of the rope with your palms facing each other and your thumbs pointing toward the anchor.

03

Maintain a tall chest and engaged core while slightly leaning your torso forward.

04

Initiate the movement by waving one arm up to shoulder height while the other arm moves down.

05

Continue alternating arms rapidly to create consistent waves that travel all the way to the anchor point.

06

Keep your feet planted and avoid excessive swaying of the torso throughout the duration of the set.

02

Common mistakes.

Fix these first — they cost reps, kilos, and joints.

  • Gripping the rope too tightly which leads to premature forearm fatigue
  • Standing with locked knees or a rounded lower back
  • Using only the arms instead of generating power through the core and hips
  • Allowing too much slack in the rope preventing clean wave formation
03

Muscles worked.

The primary movers do the work; the stabilizers keep the path honest.
