TRX Rollout Guide: Build Core Strength and Stability

Learn how to perform the TRX rollout with perfect form. Master this effective core exercise to improve abdominal strength and spinal stability.

How to Perform

  1. Adjust the TRX straps to mid-length and stand facing away from the anchor point with your feet hip-width apart.
  2. Grasp the handles with an overhand grip and extend your arms directly in front of your chest while leaning slightly forward.
  3. Engage your core and maintain a straight line from your head to your heels as you slowly raise your arms overhead.
  4. Continue the forward lean until your arms are aligned with your ears, ensuring your lower back does not arch.
  5. Pause for a second at the point of maximum tension while keeping your glutes and abdominals tight.
  6. Press down into the handles to pull your arms back to the starting position using your core and lats.
  7. Reset your posture completely before beginning the next repetition to ensure consistent form.

Common Mistakes

  • Arching the lower back during the extension phase
  • Leading the movement with the hips rather than the arms
  • Bending the elbows to compensate for lack of core strength
  • Releasing tension in the glutes at the bottom of the move
