TRX Rollout Guide: Build Core Strength and Stability
Learn how to perform the TRX rollout with perfect form. Master this effective core exercise to improve abdominal strength and spinal stability.
How to Perform
- Adjust the TRX straps to mid-length and stand facing away from the anchor point with your feet hip-width apart.
- Grasp the handles with an overhand grip and extend your arms directly in front of your chest while leaning slightly forward.
- Engage your core and maintain a straight line from your head to your heels as you slowly raise your arms overhead.
- Continue the forward lean until your arms are aligned with your ears, ensuring your lower back does not arch.
- Pause for a second at the point of maximum tension while keeping your glutes and abdominals tight.
- Press down into the handles to pull your arms back to the starting position using your core and lats.
- Reset your posture completely before beginning the next repetition to ensure consistent form.
Common Mistakes
- Arching the lower back during the extension phase
- Leading the movement with the hips rather than the arms
- Bending the elbows to compensate for lack of core strength
- Releasing tension in the glutes at the bottom of the move
