How to Perform
- Sit in the leg press machine and place your feet at the bottom edge of the platform so the balls of your feet are supported but your heels hang off.
- Press the platform away until your legs are fully extended, keeping a slight bend in your knees to protect the joints.
- Release the safety locks and lower the platform slowly by flexing your ankles until you feel a deep stretch in your calves.
- Press the platform back up by pushing through the balls of your feet and extending your ankles as far as possible.
- Pause at the peak of the contraction for one second to ensure maximum muscle fiber recruitment.
- Lower the weight under total control to the starting position and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
- Engage the safety locks before removing your feet from the platform once the set is complete.
