How to Perform

  1. Sit in the leg press machine and place your feet at the bottom edge of the platform so the balls of your feet are supported but your heels hang off.
  2. Press the platform away until your legs are fully extended, keeping a slight bend in your knees to protect the joints.
  3. Release the safety locks and lower the platform slowly by flexing your ankles until you feel a deep stretch in your calves.
  4. Press the platform back up by pushing through the balls of your feet and extending your ankles as far as possible.
  5. Pause at the peak of the contraction for one second to ensure maximum muscle fiber recruitment.
  6. Lower the weight under total control to the starting position and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
  7. Engage the safety locks before removing your feet from the platform once the set is complete.
