Cable Chest Fly Guide: Master Form and Technique
Learn how to perform the cable chest fly with perfect form. Our guide covers muscle targets, step-by-step instructions, and common training errors.
How to Perform
- Set the cable pulleys to shoulder height and attach a single-grip handle to each side.
- Grasp both handles and step forward into a staggered stance to create stability while keeping your spine neutral.
- Extend your arms out to the sides with a slight bend in the elbows to protect the joints.
- Exhale as you bring your hands together in a wide arc until they meet in front of your chest.
- Squeeze your chest muscles at the peak of the movement for one second.
- Inhale as you slowly return your arms to the starting position, maintaining control throughout the stretch.
Common Mistakes
- Locking the elbows completely straight during the movement
- Using momentum or swinging the torso to move the weight
