How to Perform the Left Triceps Stretch | Form Guide
Learn the correct way to perform a left triceps stretch to improve arm flexibility and reduce muscle soreness after your workout.
How to Perform
- Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your shoulders relaxed.
- Raise your left arm straight up toward the ceiling and bend your elbow to drop your hand behind your neck.
- Reach over with your right hand and grasp your left elbow lightly.
- Gently pull your left elbow toward your head and down toward your mid-back until you feel a pull along the back of your arm.
- Keep your chest upright and your chin away from your chest to maintain proper spinal alignment.
- Hold this position for 20 to 30 seconds while breathing deeply and slowly.
- Release the tension gradually and lower your arms back to your sides.
Common Mistakes
- Arching the lower back excessively to reach further.
- Tucking the chin into the chest which strains the neck.
- Applying too much pressure on the elbow joint.
