How to Perform
- Adjust the seat height so the handles align with the center of your chest.
- Sit back firmly against the pad and plant your feet flat on the floor for stability.
- Grasp the handles with a full grip, keeping your elbows slightly below your shoulder line.
- Press the handles forward by extending your arms while keeping your shoulder blades retracted.
- Stop just short of locking out your elbows to maintain tension on the pectoral muscles.
- Slowly lower the weight back to the starting position until you feel a comfortable stretch in your chest.
- Control the weight throughout the entire range of motion, avoiding any bouncing at the bottom.
Common Mistakes
- Flaring the elbows out horizontally which increases shoulder joint strain.
- Arching the lower back excessively to help move the weight.
