Master the Roll-over into V-sit with our expert guide. Build core strength, improve spinal mobility, and enhance your functional fitness.
How to Perform
- Lie flat on your back on a cushioned mat with your arms at your sides and legs extended.
- Raise your legs and hips off the floor in a controlled roll, bringing your feet toward the wall behind your head.
- Use your core strength to reverse the motion, rolling your spine back down to the mat one vertebra at a time.
- As your hips touch the floor, immediately use your momentum to lift your torso and legs into a V-shape.
- Balance on your sit bones at the top of the V-sit with your chest tall and arms reaching toward your feet.
- Hold the V-position for one second before slowly lowering your back and legs to the starting position.
Common Mistakes
- Using excessive momentum rather than core engagement to lift the torso.
- Rounding the lumbar spine excessively during the V-sit hold.
- Crashing the hips onto the floor during the transition phase.
- Holding your breath throughout the rolling movement.
