How to Do a Right Neck Stretch | Expert Form Guide
Learn the correct way to perform a right neck stretch to relieve tension, improve mobility, and reduce stiffness in the upper traps and neck.
How to Perform
- Sit or stand with your spine tall, shoulders relaxed, and your gaze directed forward.
- Lower your right shoulder toward the floor to create a stable base for the stretch.
- Slowly tilt your head to the left, bringing your left ear toward your left shoulder.
- Place your left hand lightly on the right side of your head for a very gentle assistance, if needed.
- Hold the position for 20 to 30 seconds while breathing deeply and maintaining a tall posture.
- Slowly return your head to the neutral center position before repeating or switching sides.
Common Mistakes
- Shrugging the right shoulder upward toward the ear.
- Applying excessive downward pressure with the hand.
- Holding your breath or tensing the jaw during the stretch.
- Rotating the chin toward the chest instead of keeping the face forward.
