Learn the correct way to perform head tilts to relieve neck tension and improve flexibility with our expert-led, step-by-step guide.
How to Perform
- Sit or stand with a tall posture and draw your shoulders down and back away from your ears.
- Look straight ahead and keep your chin level with the floor to establish a neutral starting position.
- Slowly lower your right ear toward your right shoulder until you feel a mild stretch in the left side of your neck.
- Hold this position for a few seconds while continuing to breathe deeply through your nose.
- Return your head to the center position with a slow and controlled motion.
- Repeat the same movement on the left side by lowering your left ear toward your left shoulder.
- Alternate sides for the desired number of repetitions or duration.
Common Mistakes
- Shrugging the shoulders upward to meet the ear during the tilt.
- Rotating the chin toward the chest rather than keeping it facing forward.
- Moving too quickly or using jerky motions that strain the cervical spine.
