Core Rotation Exercise Guide: Strengthen Quads and Hips
Master the Core Rotation to improve quad strength and rotational stability. Follow our expert guide for better lower body control and injury prevention.
How to Perform
- Stand with your feet slightly wider than shoulder-width apart and your toes pointed forward.
- Lower your hips into a partial squat to engage the quadriceps and establish a stable base.
- Place your hands on your hips or extend them in front of you for balance.
- Pivot on the ball of one foot while rotating your torso and hips toward the opposite side.
- Control the movement using your quads to decelerate before returning to the center position.
- Repeat the rotation on the other side, ensuring your weight remains centered over your mid-foot.
Common Mistakes
- Allowing the knees to collapse inward during the rotation
- Lifting the heels off the ground instead of pivoting correctly
- Using momentum rather than muscle tension to drive the turn
- Rounding the lower back while in the partial squat position
