How to Do Clockwise Neck Circles: Form and Benefits
Master the clockwise neck circle to improve mobility and reduce stiffness. Follow our expert guide for safe, effective neck stretching.
How to Perform
- Sit or stand with a tall, neutral spine and your shoulders relaxed away from your ears.
- Gently drop your chin toward your chest until you feel a mild stretch in the back of your neck.
- Slowly roll your right ear toward your right shoulder while keeping your gaze forward.
- Continue the motion by tilting your head back to look toward the ceiling without collapsing into the spine.
- Roll your left ear toward your left shoulder to complete the upper half of the circle.
- Bring your chin back down to your chest and repeat the movement in a fluid, continuous motion.
Common Mistakes
- Moving too fast which can lead to dizziness or muscle strain.
- Shrugging the shoulders upward during the rotation.
- Holding the breath instead of maintaining a steady, natural rhythm.
