How to Do the Leg Wheel Exercise | Expert Core Guide
Master the Leg Wheel with our step-by-step guide. Learn proper form to strengthen your abs and obliques using only your bodyweight.
How to Perform
- Lie flat on your back on a firm surface with your arms extended out to your sides for stability.
- Raise both legs toward the ceiling until they are vertical, keeping your knees slightly bent to protect your lower back.
- Lower your legs toward one side in a slow, controlled circular motion while keeping your shoulders pressed firmly against the floor.
- Sweep your feet across the bottom of the movement, just inches above the ground, toward the opposite side.
- Rotate your legs back up to the starting vertical position to complete one full circular rotation.
- Perform the movement in the opposite direction for the next repetition to ensure balanced development.
Common Mistakes
- Lifting the shoulders off the ground during the rotation
- Moving too fast and using momentum instead of core tension
- Arching the lower back excessively at the bottom of the arc
- Holding your breath instead of maintaining rhythmic exhalations
